Company history

From CENTER to SISS

The history of STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions (SISS for short) goes back to the 1960s, when the company Center was founded as a specialist in radio technology.

The company was sold to STRABAG SE in 2009, but continued to operate under its existing name until it was finally renamed STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions GmbH at the beginning of 2016.

Foundation of the company Center Nachrichtentechnische Anlagen G.m.b.H.
End of the 90s
Takeover of the Bosch/Ascom business radio and Motorola business radio divisions in Austria.
2000
Integration of the subsidiary Center Motronic and takeover of the tunnel and building radio and voice and data communication divisions of ECS Electronics & Communication Systems GmbH.
2001
Foundation of STRABAG Anlagentechnik GmbH, which is later incorporated into STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions GmbH.
2004
Renaming and relocation to new headquarters: Center Nachrichtentechnische Anlagen GmbH becomes Center Communication Systems GmbH, or Center Systems for short.
2005 - 2007
Foundation of wholly-owned subsidiaries in Belgium, Germany and Switzerland, and takeover of IMAC IT Forschungs- und Entwicklungs-GmbH.
2009
STRABAG SE becomes the 100% owner of Center Communication Systems GmbH.
2016
Initially, the busniess field of Tunnel and Traffic Solutions of STRABAG Anlagentechnik GmbH is incorporated into Center Communication Systems GmbH. This company is then renamed STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions GmbH (as a wholly owned subsidiary of STRABAG AG).
2020
STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions GmbH sells the train radio business unit to the Funkwerk AG Group as part of an asset deal.
