ALECS – Designed for safe and efficient construction site operations

Our mission is to enhance safety on construction sites through the use of intelligent systems and to support you in meeting process optimization requirements.

The ALECS system, developed by STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions can be adapted to the project specific requirements of each construction site thanks to its flexible and scalable architecture.

ALECS – Customized Smart Technologies

ALECS can be seamlessly integrated into existing safety concepts and combines various technologies on a centralized platform.

The system enables reliable communication throughout the entire construction site, ensures controlled and secure access and provides real-time location and tagging data to track the presence and movement of personnel and vehicles. This supports safe evacuation procedures when needed.

ALECS Control Center

The heart of ALECS is our central management software, which allows clear control and visualization of all subsystems in one place. All data is locally archived and available for comprehensive analysis at any time. If measured values exceed predefined thresholds, the system automatically triggers alarms in the control center and affected areas. Additionally, telemetric data – such as equipment fill levels of construction machinery – can be recorded, visualized, and stored.

ACCESS - Access Control

Managed by a modern access authorization system, only authorized personnel are granted entry to the construction site. All individuals are registered, ensuring full traceability of who is currently on site. Upon request, an additional video surveillance system can be installed to detect, record, and report unauthorized access attempts to the control center.

LOCATING - Locating and Tagging Functions

The tagging system enables precise tracking of people and vehicles within the construction or hazardous area. ALECS supports the integration of various technologies such as Wi-Fi, RFID, or Bluetooth. The so-called “tags” can be carried by personnel or attached to vehicles.

ENVIRONMENT - Environmental Sensor Technology

Environmental sensors such as gas and dust detectors, airflow meters, or smoke detectors can be easily integrated into the system. The collected data is transmitted to the control center in real time, where it can be monitored and analyzed.

COMMUNICATION - Voice Communication & Emergency Telephony

Communication is an essential factor on the construction sites.
ALECS can provide communication infrastructure via Wi-Fi, radio (analog and digital), or mobile networks. If needed, a combination of these technologies can be implemented. Emergency services (police, fire brigade and ambulance) can be easily integrated into the communication system. As an add-on, location tracking is available when using Wi-Fi-enabled radios, allowing personnel to be located at any time in case of emergency.

Construction site safety and health plans often require fixed-line communication in addition to radio systems. For this purpose, emergency telephones are installed at remote locations, providing direct voice communication with the control center via the LAN network. These phones can also be used for internal communication on site.

SAFETY - Video Surveillance, Alerting & Evacuation

ALECS is a comprehensive system that goes beyond access control, location tracking, communication, and environmental monitoring. It also includes advanced safety features such as intelligent video surveillance systems that monitor critical areas of the construction site – including access zones, shafts or caverns – and can be analyzed using smart software. We offer local alerting systems and enable site-wide evacuation at the push of a button. Additionally, ALECS can be extended to include license plate recognition systems.
