Regional Control Center Hanover
The Hanover Regional Control Center is responsible for the fire and rescue services as well as the coordination of patient transfers and intensive care transports – throughout the entire Hanover region, including the state capital. It thus ensures the protection and medical care of around 1.3 million people. STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions was commissioned with the comprehensive modernization of the control center technology as part of this project.
The NGS3600 communication management system forms the central hub for the control center's emergency call and radio communication. Due to the system's position as the control center for the state of Lower Saxony, great importance was attached to maximum reliability and a geo-redundant structure during the design phase. The NGS3600 is divided into two locations, which are fail-safe and ensure load distribution during high-load operation.
The main site has 22 control center and 10 calltaker workstations, while the backup site has a further 6 control center and 12 calltaker workstations. The incident command stations are equipped with touch operation of the communication system and special audio hardware, while the call taker stations use compact all-in-one systems that are optimized by the CDI3603 interface.
In addition, TETRA digital radio was introduced for fire and rescue services in the Hanover region with the introduction of the NGS3600. The connection to TETRA was implemented via a wired and direct connection to the BDBOS infrastructure and the complete operation was integrated into the NGS3600.
Details of the implemented overall system
- VoIP voice communication system NGS3600 installed at two locations with redundant system setup in a virtual environment and duplicated network
- TETRA control center gateway for the public authority radio network
- 28 control workstations with touch panel operation and IP audio matrix CDI3603 in the two control centers
- 22 calltaker workstations as all-in-one systems, also distributed tactically across both control centers
- Coupling with the ISE Cobra 4 operations control system
- Connection of ISDN S0/S2m lines / SIP trunk and analog radio circuits
- Voice recording system with long and short-term recording incl. interrogators for the NGS3600 clients
- Integrated fault and network management and integration of external fault messages
- Connection of station alerting systems for 5 fire stations
