SIMOS - Integrated Control Center Stuttgart

SIMOS is the Control Center for safety and mobility of the state capital Stuttgart. The redundant NGS3600 Communication Management System installed by STRABAG Infrastructure & Safety Solutions is the central hub for emergency call and radio communication for the Integrated Control Center.

SIMOS – 2 independent control centers under one roof

SIMOS is a network of two control centers that operate under one roof without compromising their operational independence:

  • The Integrated Control Center of the Stuttgart Fire Department and the German Red Cross, and
  • The Command and Administrative Staff of the state capital for extraordinary events and disasters.

The operating equipment of the NGS3600 was installed in the existing furniture and the core system is linked to the existing computer aided dispatch system.

The outstanding features of the communication management system supplied were implemented during operation of the control center and offer full integration of the digital radio functionalities of the BDBOS TETRA network into the communication infrastructure of the control center.

The workstations are fully equipped communication workstations consisting of touch panels and multiple intercom and monitoring options with the CDI3603 dispatcher interface.

Details of the implemented overall system

  • VoIP communication management system NGS3600 installed at two locations with redundant system setup in a virtual environment and duplicated network
  • TETRA control center gateway for the public authority radio network
  • 12 standard workstations with touch panel operation and IP audio matrix CDI3603 in the control center as well as 6 exceptional workstations
  • Coupling with the computer aided dispatch system
  • Connection of ISDN BRI/PRI lines / SIP trunk
  • Connection of the analog radio circuits of the Integrated Control Center and TETRA FRTs
  • Voice recording system with long and short-term recording incl. interrogators for the NGS3600 clients
  • Integrated fault and network management and integration of external fault messages
  • Integration of the building services control system
