Highly available, redundant alerting solutions for critical infrastructure
The Digital Alarm Device (Type III) features a dual-redundant architecture to enhance operational reliability, including the necessary network components and control applications.
In the control center, the digital alarm device is implemented in a redundant configuration and continuously synchronizes its databases. Reliable, high-performance servers are used, equipped with additional security features such as RAID-configured storage media and dual network connections. In addition to providing central services, the digital alarm device servers also offer an interface to the control center’s operation control system.
The Digital Alarm Device Operator Application is available on one or more workstations. Dedicated computers with keyboard and mouse operation, as well as touch-based operator units, are provided for this purpose. As a browser-based application, it can also be accessed from existing clients, such as those used by the operation control system. Its powerful and intuitive user interface allows it to be used either as a standalone solution or as a redundant application.
The client interface allows operation of the digital alarm device (type III) independently of the computer aided dispatch (CAD) system or the digital alarm devices type I or type II. Access rights for using the application and the database are managed via a user administration system. Depending on the user’s permission level, specific functions are made available.
The digital alarm device clients are multi-tenant capable, allowing system-wide access without functional limitations based on the type of connection. For example, access to the control center’s digital alarm device is possible via VPN connection, enabling external (mobile) alarm clients outside the control center to trigger alerts through the control center’s digital alarm device and digital alerting infrastructure.
